The ‘Review’ Page
The Review page is designed to improve the accuracy of your calculated balances and gains. We recommend addressing issues in the suggested order.
The Review Steps in CTC
Before resolving the warnings, ensure you have imported every exchange and wallet you’ve ever used, including those you no longer use. Once all your data is imported, you can proceed with reviewing and reconciling your transactions.
Below are the different reconciliation warnings available in CTC, designed for report accuracy. Click the links in the ‘Warning Type’ column for a detailed explanation of each warning.
Warning Type | Explanation |
The transactions have not yet been assigned a category. They are usually shown as 'categorize', 'incoming', or 'outgoing'. You need to choose the correct category, such as Buy, Sell, Income, etc.
The price data for a transaction is missing, which could make your gain calculations incorrect.
This warning occurs when the ‘purchase’ transaction of the disposal asset is missing. Without a purchase history, the platform assumes the asset was acquired at zero cost, potentially resulting in inaccurate gains.
Transactions don’t have the assigned blockchain data.
The ‘Send’ and ‘Receive’ transactions are not grouped into a ‘Transfer’; the ‘Bridge Out’ and ‘Bridge In’ transactions are not grouped into a ‘Bridge’. |
Note: The Review page is exclusive to paid users, but don’t worry! Even on a free plan, you can review and resolve warnings directly on the Transactions page. Learn more about the free reconciliation options here.
Categorize Transactions
This section displays all uncategorized transactions. To resolve them, click the Categorize button and select the appropriate transaction category to ensure accurate reporting.

Resolve Missing Prices
This section lists all transactions with missing market prices. Click the ‘Lookup price’ button to check if CTC has price data for the tokens. If no prices are found, you can manually add them by clicking ‘Add price’.
For cases where a token has genuinely no value (e.g., $0 value airdrops), you can resolve the warning by clicking the three dots at the right side of the transaction and choosing ‘Ignore warning’.
Note: To ignore multiple missing price warnings, use the bulk-edit feature.

Resolve Missing Purchase History
This section lists all the assets that have missing purchase history. A Missing Purchase History warning occurs when the ‘purchase’ transaction is missing. Without a trackable purchase history, CTC assumes the asset was acquired at zero cost, potentially resulting in inaccurate gains.
Below are the details you can find in the ‘Resolve missing purchase history’ section.
Details | Description |
Currency | The asset that has a missing purchase history. |
Transactions | Total number of transactions of a particular asset with a missing purchase history issue. |
Amount Missing | The total quantity or amount that has a missing purchase history. |
Tax Impact | The tax impact of unresolved missing purchase history issues. If not corrected, your tax obligations will be calculated as if the cost basis for any affected asset is zero, resulting in higher taxes. Resolving this issue is essential to minimize your tax liability. |

Resolve Missing Blockchains
This section lists the on-chain transactions that do not have an assigned blockchain. To fix this, click the ‘Assign Blockchain’ button and select the correct blockchain from the available options.
Note:
You can only assign transactions to blockchains supported by CTC.
If the blockchain you need is not supported, you can bulk-select the transactions, click ‘Command’ at the bottom, and choose ‘Ignore Warnings’ to bypass this step.
To learn more about the missing blockchain warning, please check this guide.
Resolve Unmatched Transfers
This section displays all standalone Send, Receive, Bridge Out, and Bridge In transactions that can not be matched.
A Send and Receive pair is automatically grouped as a Transfer.
A Bridge Out and Bridge In pair is automatically grouped as a Bridge.
