Managing subscriptions can be a time-consuming task for accountants. To streamline this process, you can empower your clients to handle their own subscriptions. Here’s a guide on how to enable this feature in Crypto Tax Calculator (CTC).
Note: Do not enter your client's card details in your accountant portal. The card you enter on your side will be charged for ALL clients in your accountant portal.
Invite your client to your accountant portal.
Ensure clients have their own CTC accounts to allow them to manage their subscriptions. You can invite them to the platform whether or not they already have a CTC account. Once your clients set up their CTC accounts, they will have the autonomy to handle their billing and subscriptions directly.
Note: This method is only available if you invite the client to your accountant portal. If you do not invite your client, you must manage their subscriptions.

Does it matter which side of the data is shared?
Access to paid features is not affected by which side of the data is shared. In CTC, as long as one side pays for the subscription, both sides can access paid features, including reports, on the shared data.
| The accountant pays for the subscription | The client pays for the subscription |
Shared data is the accountant's data | Both the accountant and the client have access to paid features. | Both the accountant and the client have access to paid features. |
Shared data is the client's data | Both the accountant and the client have access to paid features. | Both the accountant and the client have access to paid features. |
Only the client can decide which side of the data will be worked on. This decision can be made when accepting the accountant's invitation or by navigating to Settings > Permission > Data Management.
Note: Currently, moving data between the accountant and the client is not feasible. For easy management, it is recommended that the person who pays for the subscription owns the data.

What if I am paying now and want my client to handle the subscription in the coming years?
The accountant can cancel the client's subscription on the 'My Clients' page. Click the three dots on the right side of your client's name and select 'Cancel subscription'. This will cancel the subscription at the end of the billing cycle. Your client can then subscribe on their own account to ensure continued access for both parties once the current billing cycle ends.
