Here we explain one of the few different ways you can manage your clients in the accountant suite.

Below is an overview of the 3 ways you can work with clients using Crypto Tax Calculator:

  • Full-service management

    The accountant takes care of everything, and the client doesn't use the platform at all.

  • Collaboration

    The client has an account connected with the accountant's accountant portal and both work on the reconciliation.

  • Self-service

    The client takes care of everything, and the accountant is there just to do a final review and generate the tax reports.

1. Full-Service Management

You can manage your clients through a full-service (white glove). The client does not even have to know about Crypto Tax Calculator. In this scenario, you are not inviting the client to come onto the platform.

The accountant creates an account for the client.

The accountant sends an invite to the client.

The client has an individual account and accepts the invite.

How to get the data from the client?

You (as the accountant) are simply collecting all the data from the client whether that be CSV files, API keys, or wallet addresses.

Let's say your client tells you they are using Binance and prefer downloading CSV files over API keys. As the accountant - you can simply type in 'Binance' into the Imports page, then copy the CSV instructions on the right-hand side and send them over to your client.

From there, you can collect the Binance CSV file(s) which your client sends you and import them into our app.

Review Transactions

Once you've imported all the client's data, you can head to the Review Page page and see how many items are left to reconcile. This will give you a rough indication of how much work is needed to provide the full-service offering for that client.

2. Collaboration

Another way accountants can manage their clients is to invite the client onto the platform and then get them to import their data themselves.

The accountant creates an account for the client.

The accountant sends an invite to the client.

The client has an individual account and accepts the invite.

Once the client has imported all their data to the Imports page, they may also then head to the Review page to check if there are any suggestions they know how to fix.

The accountant can then take over and go through the items left to reconcile on the Review page before generating the tax reports.

3. Self-service

With this method, the accountant can invite the client onto the platform and then have them import all their data and review their transactions on their own. Once everything is reconciled, we suggest setting up a consultancy session with the client to go through and review the transactions which the client has already gone through and reconciled.

The accountant sends an invite to the client.

The client has an individual account and accepts the invite.

As the client is connected to the platform, it allows you and the client to share the same view and also make any comments on the transactions that you want to discuss.
