Steps to create your first client:

  1. Navigate to the 'My Clients' page.

  2. Click '+ New Client' in the top right of that page.

  3. Next you will choose a name for this client and have the option to add their email address. If you do add an email address they will receive an invitation email to work on the account with you (Don't worry about this step too much as you can always invite the client anytime after too). More about this can be found here:

  4. Choose the country that you want the account to be setup for, make sure you choose the correct county that the client is filing their taxes in, as this can't be changed later.

  5. Once you have filled in the correct account information, you need to decide how you want to manage the client’s workflow. There are two main approaches:

    Option 1: You Manage Everything

    • You take full responsibility for the client’s account.

    • This includes:

      • Importing data

      • Reconciling transactions

      • Handling all bookkeeping tasks

Option 2: Shared Management with the Client

    • You collaborate with the client on the process.

    • Example:

      • Invite the client to work on the account with you.

      • They handle the data importation.

      • You focus on reconciliation and bookkeeping.

  6. Now that you've created your first client and decided which method from step 5 you're going to take, you're ready to move onto importing the clients data into the account. See this article for a complete guide how to do this:
