When you contact Crypto Tax Calculator (CTC) Support, you may be asked to share a video recording of your screen. This helps our team gather more information about your concern and visualize the situation better, allowing us to provide a tailored solution.

Important: Before recording, ensure your screen does not display sensitive personal information, such as your API keys, passwords, or any other details you don’t want to share.

Note:

All recorded videos are automatically deleted after 30 days. If you want your videos deleted sooner, please inform your Support Specialist after sending the video.
Recording a video is optional. If you’d rather not record one, let your support specialist know, and they’ll suggest alternative ways to gather the necessary information (e.g. sharing screenshots).

How to Use the Birdie Recording

Step 1: Click ‘Record screen’

Click the Record screen button provided by the Support specialist in the chat conversation. This will open a new tab in your browser.

Step 2: Select Audio Preferences

Choose whether to record with audio or without audio.
We recommend recording with audio so you can explain your questions or concerns while capturing your screen.
Click the RECORD button to proceed.

If you choose to record with audio, a pop-up notification will ask for microphone permission. Select Allow this time to grant temporary access for the recording.

Note: If you have a pop-up blocker enabled, make sure to allow the pop-up so you can view and select the microphone permission.

Step 3: Choose What to Share

Select the type of content you’d like to share, and click Share to start recording.

Content Type	Description	Example
Browser Tab	Records only a specific browser tab. You cannot switch between tabs while recording.	Recording your CTC Portfolio page only.
Window	Records the entire window of a specific app. You cannot switch between different apps.	Sharing a browser window (e.g., Chrome) while switching between tabs.
Entire Screen	Records everything on your screen. Allows switching between multiple apps.	Showing both your browser and an Excel sheet.

Step 4: Begin the Recording

The recording will begin after five beep sounds.
Record your screen. Ensure you are on the screen or page you want to record.
If you choose to record with audio, you can explain the situation or concern while recording your screen.
Each recording is limited to five minutes. If you reach the time limit, feel free to submit the first video and record another one. There’s no limit to the number of videos you can submit.

Step 5: End the Recording

To end the recording:

Click the Stop sharing button. It’s usually located at the top or bottom of your screen depending on the content type you selected.

Or go back to the original screen recording tab and click FINISH.

Step 6: Review and Submit the Recording

Watch and review your video recording.

Click the RETRY button if you wish to redo it.
Click the SUBMIT button if you’re happy with it.

You’ll get a confirmation once the recording is shared. The video link will automatically be posted to the chat thread where you initially clicked the ‘Record screen’ button.
