FAQ

Q: Does the CTC WISO Steuer report separate long-term and short-term gains?

Yes, the CTC WISO Steuer report categorizes crypto sales as follows:

  • Long-term ("long") – Holding period over 1 year

  • Short-term ("short") – Holding period under 1 year

Since long-term capital gains are not taxable in Germany, WISO Steuer does not track long-term assets (read more here). If you want to keep records of these transactions, you can download your CTC Capital Gains report.

Q: Where can I get help if I have tax-related questions?

Check the "?" icon in your WISO Steuer account or consult your accountant for tax-specific guidance.
