Crypto spam is unfortunately common — random tokens show up in your wallet that you never bought, and they clutter your transaction history.

With our Spam page, you can manage spam at the currency level instead of marking each transaction individually. This keeps your portfolio clean and ensures your tax reports are accurate, with minimal effort.

What the ‘Spam’ Page Does

  • Central place to manage spam — All spam are collected on one page.

  • Currency-level control — Mark an asset as spam or unmark as spam, rather than updating each transaction individually.

This means less manual work for you and more reliable tax insights.

Note: Once an asset is marked as spam, all transactions involving that asset are automatically excluded from your billed transaction count, portfolio, balances, and tax reports.

Navigating the ‘Spam’ Page

The Spam page can be accessed from the left menu of your CTC account. You will have two tabs on the Spam page.

Resolved Spam

  • Displays all assets marked as spam, including:

    • manually categorized by you

    • auto-categorized by CTC

  • Shows details such as the asset name, blockchain, and contract address.

  • To update the category of an asset marked as spam, click the magnifying glass icon to view its transactions and assign your preferred category.

    • Alternatively, click the Unmark as spam button and categorize them via the Transactions or Review pages.

All Assets

  • Shows all assets in your account that are not marked as spam.

  • From here, you can mark any asset as spam with a single click instead of categorizing each transaction of that asset as spam. 🤩

FAQs

Q: What if a token marked as spam is not really spam?

Go to the Resolved Spam tab and click Unmark as spam. Then, you can categorize them via the Transactions or Review page.

Q: What if I only categorized a few transactions of a specific asset as spam, will it be included in the 'Resolved Spam' tab?

No, the asset will only be included in the 'Resolved Spam' tab once all of its transactions have been categorized as 'spam' and/or 'spam out'.

Q: Do I need to re-check my reports after marking spam?

No — all changes apply automatically to your transactions, portfolio, and reports.

Q: What does “Auto-resolved txs” mean?

It’s the total number of assets categorized as spam.

Q: How do I view all the transactions categorized as ‘Spam’?

On the Transactions page, filter for ‘spam’ and ‘spam-out’ category.

Ensure that the toggle to Hide ignored/spam transactions is turned off. You can turn this toggle on/off anytime.

Q: I clicked “Unmark as spam” and can’t find the transaction/asset anymore. How do I find it or edit it?

Make sure the Hide ignored/spam transactions toggle on the Transactions page is turned off so everything is visible. You can switch this on or off anytime. Then filter by the asset name to view the transactions and assign the correct categories.

If you want to treat the asset as spam again, go to the Spam page, open the All Assets tab, search for the asset, and click Mark as spam.
