The Outgoing Gift and Lost or Stolen Assets Report provides a summary and a detailed record of all transactions categorized as ‘Outgoing Gift’, ‘Lost’ or ‘Stolen’ for the selected financial year. This article will guide you through the details included in the report.

Relevant Transaction Categories

Category

Description

You gave a gift to a third party (e.g. gifted crypto to a family member)

You lost crypto (e.g. forgotten seed phrase)

Your crypto was stolen (e.g. wallet was hacked)

Report Details

  • Currency - This is your native currency based on your chosen country.

  • Total transactions (all time) - ‘All time’ refers to the total number of transactions imported across all financial years. You can find the total transaction count on your Transactions page. In this example, I have 7 transactions across all financial years.

  • Transactions In (financial year) - The number of your transactions for the selected financial year. You can check this on your Transactions page by filtering for the financial year. In this example, I have 5 transactions for the selected financial year.

Tax Settings

This is the Inventory Method and Cost Basis Tracking you used for the selected financial year. You can check and change your Inventory Method and Cost Basis Tracking on your Settings page.

Report Summary

The Report Summary section provides an overview of the total value of all Outgoing Gift, Lost, and Stolen transactions for the selected financial year.

Total Outgoing Gift

The total value of assets categorized as ‘Outgoing Gift’.

Total Lost

The total value of assets categorized as ‘Lost’.

Total Stolen

The total value of assets categorized as ‘Stolen’.

Total

The combined total of Outgoing Gift, Lost and Stolen.

Transactions

The Transactions section breaks down the raw data that forms the basis of the report summary above. At the end, you'll find the Totals, representing the sum of all transaction values listed in the report. This section is organized into eight columns, each explained in detail below.

Details

Description

Currency

The asset involved in the transaction.

Timestamp

The date and time the transaction occurred.

Trade

The type of transaction (Outgoing Gift, Lost, or Stolen).

Quantity

The amount of the asset involved in the transaction.

Value

The total asset value involved in the transaction (Price x Quantity).

From

The wallet or exchange the transaction came from (this can sometimes be called the 'source').

To

The wallet or exchange to which the transaction was sent (this can sometimes be called the 'destination').

Transaction Id

The transaction identification number. This can be the TX ID provided by the blockchain, a unique ID provided by a centralised exchange, or the app if no Transaction ID is assigned from the original source.
